Isaiah 40 (28-31)
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even children grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
But those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
“The Word of God!”
Zephaniah 3:17

Romans 8:16-17

1 Timothy 2:8
Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.
1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness
to those who are perishing,
But to us who are being saved
it is the power of God.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Colossians 3:1-17
1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
12Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Kids really say the funniest things. Being a teacher, I come home with many stories from my day. One day last year a Kindergarten student was very upset with me, because I had just finished reprimanding him for misbehaving. I asked him if he understood why I was disappointed, and he muttered, “Yes, Mrs. Cooper.” I said, great, well I look forward to seeing you make better decisions next time(such a teacher thing to say!) Then I turned around to walk away, and under his breath I heard this cute little Kindergarten student say in an incredibly angry tone, “Candy pants.” He called me candy pants!! My friend Sarah still calls me candy pants to this day.

Eli also called a beaver dam a “beaver jam” the other day. Makes much more sense, really.
Also, Eden called a koala bear a “bamboo bear”!
What I love about so many of the funny things kids say is that so much of the time it really is a better way of saying things. They just haven’t been jaded by the English language as much as we have.

Haha, I also feel like it’s really more of a square world. I think my niece has got something here.
Stopped by to see Libby and the kids today… Eli showed me his new K’nex and tried to explain to me how the lobster claw mechanism works. That kid is a lot more technical than I am. Maybe he can help me with my stats homework this semester.
