I am reminded that Jesus came "full of grace and truth." We can't handle the truth unless we experience grace. It is God's kindness that leads us to repentance. You and Ben are demonstrating grace to Ben. Grace is so costly!

You know, after the post about the ordinary radicals - I've been thinking more and more about our motivation for doing things - we seem to have bought into this concept of a results-oriented culture - we only invest our time, resources, and energy into something that we believe will lead to certain outcomes.

The fact is, we're supposed to love - Love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength - and love our neighbor as ourselves. That doesn't guarantee any kind of return. Love can be messy, disappointing, frustrating, and feel very futile. But, that's what we're called to do.

So, let's hear it for loving people as opposed to fixing them!
